Random Post (WordPress Plugin)The Random Post plugin allows you to send your visitors to a random post on your blog. After installing the plugin, you specify a URL (such as http://yourblog.com/random) that will be used to redirect the visitor to a random post. Then you include one line of Php in your templates (usually in the sidebar), and you're ready to go. You'll have a link the user can click to be taken to a random post.
Features
This plugin was inspired after reading TechCrunch's post on having StumbleUpon site-specific features and Matt Mullenweg's follow-up Random Redirect plugin. This plugin is compatible with WordPress 2.0.x- Matt's is not, and he has stated that there are no plans for supporting it either. It would have been easier for Matt to take an extra 30 minutes and add some compatibility and features to his plugin instead of me starting another one, but oh well, here it is. Tested on WordPress 2.1.3 and 2.0.10, and on a blog with over 9,000 posts, but NO GUARANTEES.
If you have any comments, suggestions, complaints, feature requests etc, post a comment on this post.
